**At the start of the new season, we are delighted to announce that Line Février and Sebastian Metry have taken over the management of the Chalet Hotel Schönegg!

Sebastian Metry, who is the third generation to run the Chalet Hotel Schönegg, will be supported with immediate effect by his partner Line Février. The management couple have big plans for the traditional Zermatt hotel.
Zermatt, December 8, 2023 - Sebastian Metry, who has been jointly responsible for the fate of the Chalet-Hotel Schönegg in Zermatt since 2012, will be supported in the operational management by his partner Line Février with immediate effect. Together, they have successfully managed, renovated and repositioned the Hotel National 4**** in Zermatt, which also belongs to the family, over the past seven years. Now they want to continue their joint success story at the Chalet-Hotel Schönegg.

The history of this traditional Zermatt hotel dates back to the 1930s. In 1947, the Schönegg, then still a tea room with three rooms, was taken over by Sebastian Metry's grandparents Johann and Maria Julen.
The jewel in the crown of the four-star superior hotel, which now consists of two chalets with 48 rooms and suites, is the recently renovated infinity terrace, from which guests can enjoy a magnificent view over the rooftops of Zermatt and the Matterhorn. The hotel also has an extensive spa area. Guests are spoiled with culinary delights in the "Saveurs" restaurant and the "Uncorked" bar. The hotel has been a member of the Relais & Châteaux association since 2018. "The only hotel cooperation in which gastronomy and the hotel industry play an equal role," says Sebastian Metry.
Spa expansion is imminent

40-year-old Sebastian Metry, Vice President of the Zermatt Hoteliers' Association, and 39-year-old Line Février from Bern both graduated from the Lausanne Hotel Management School and gained a lot of experience in the international hotel industry before taking over the family hotels.

The management couple attaches great importance to ensuring that all guests immediately feel at home in the hotel. "A nice smile here, a little extra there - we live what we love: friendliness. Every day is filled with new experiences and acquaintances and offers the opportunity to constantly improve our service," says Line Février.
The two have ambitious ideas for the Chalet-Hotel Schönegg over the next few years: The spa area is to be renovated and expanded as early as 2024. "Among other things, there will be a new indoor and outdoor infinity pool - naturally with spectacular views thanks to our unique unobstructed and unobstructable position," says Sebastian Metry. There are also plans to refurbish the rooms, invest in the kitchen and further expand the wine expertise. The wine menu at the Schönegg already includes over 400 wines, including Fendant and Pinot Noir from the hotel's own vines as well as its own creations (Valcino).

**They are looking forward to welcoming you soon!
