When can I check in?
Check-in is generally available from 2 PM onwards. If you arrive earlier, you’re welcome to store your luggage with us and start your Schönegg experience right away. Enjoy a drink on our Infinity Terrace, savor a lunch or take a stroll through Zermatt while we prepare your room. For early check-in, please contact us in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.
Are there nearby activities?
Absolutely! Schönegg is situated in the heart of the Alps, offering countless outdoor activities all year round. During the summer, guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and scenic gondola rides. In winter, skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing are popular. The nearby Gornergrat Railway and Glacier Paradise provide stunning panoramic views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks. Additionally, there are cultural and culinary experiences in Zermatt itself.
Until when can I cancel my reservation?
Our cancellation terms vary by season and booking type:
- Summer: Free cancellation up to 3 days before arrival. Cancellations within 0–3 days before arrival will be charged 100% of the package price.
- Winter (excluding Christmas & New Year): Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival. Cancellations within 0–13 days before arrival will be charged 100%.
- Christmas & New Year: Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival. Cancellations within 0–29 days before arrival will be charged 100%.
- Groups (10 or more guests):
- Entire group cancellations up to 28 days before arrival are free.
- Cancellations within 21–27 days incur a 50% charge, and within 0–20 days, 100%.
- Individual room cancellations within a group are free up to 4 days before arrival; cancellations within 0–3 days will be charged 100%.
For early booking (non-refundable) rates, cancellations are not free. If booked via online portals, cancellation policies of those providers apply.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly hotel and warmly welcome your furry companions. However, please note that pets are not allowed in the main dining room of Restaurant Saveurs. For breakfast or dinner, you’re welcome to enjoy a meal with your dog in the Uncorked Bar, where we strive to make both you and your pet comfortable. Kindly inform us in advance if you're bringing a pet, as an additional fee of 40 CHF will apply.
How far are closest Ski and Mountaineering Stations?
Our hotel offers easy access to key Zermatt stations for your adventures:
Sunnegga: A 2-minute walk via our private tunnel, with a quick 4.5-minute funicular ride to the slopes.
Gornergrat: 7 minutes away, with a scenic 33-minute journey reaching 3,089 meters.
Matterhorn Paradise: A 15-minute walk or 1-minute by Green bus, connecting you to some of the best terrain in the region.
